The outdoor space at Messe Erfurt comprises 21,600 m² and is located right next to the three halls, enabling large objects, such as agricultural machinery or construction technology, to be included in the tour of the trade fair during trade fairs and exhibitions. There is room for outdoor activities in the framework programme here, ranging from machine demonstrations to off-road vehicle courses and sports activities.
The location of the outdoor area right next to the backstage area hall 1 (multipurpose hall) also allows it to be used for large-scale events.
Various festivals and concerts take place in 21,600 square metres of well-maintained green space, especially in the summer months. These events include the PyroGames - the pyrotechnicians’ duel.
The area also offers additional space for trade fairs and product presentations as well as accompanying open-air catering. For Reiten-Jagen-Fischen and the Thuringia Exhibition, additional temporary halls are also set up in the open-air space to increase the covered exhibition space.
