Directions to Messe Erfurt

Erfurt, the state capital of Thuringia, is located in the heart of Germany and has excellent infrastructure. Erfurt-Weimar Airport in the immediate vicinity, the ICE junction in the city centre, city railway line 2 with its stop at the trade fair site and a direct link to the motorway network ensure that the location is very convenient for our visitors, exhibitors and participants.

Thanks to its excellent location between the railway station, airport and motorway, our trade fair and congress centre takes the stress out of travelling to and from your event. A total of 3,500 parking spaces make it convenient for you to drive to the location in your own car and these parking spaces are available for our guests to use on the premises.

Travelling by car

You can get to Messe Erfurt by car from all sides of the country.

From the north

If you are travelling from Berlin / Leipzig, continue on the A9 to Hermsdorfer Kreuz, then take the A4 in the direction of Frankfurt am Main to the Erfurter Kreuz / Messe Erfurt motorway exit and then the A71 in the direction of Erfurt.

 

If you are travelling from Hamburg / Hannover / Kassel, take the A7 to Kirchheimer Dreieck, then the A4 in the direction of Dresden to the Erfurter Kreuz / Messe Erfurt motorway exit, then the A71 in the direction of Erfurt.

From the west

If you are travelling from Frankfurt am Main (A5) or the Ruhr area (A44), take the A7 to Kirchheimer Dreieck, then the A4 in the direction of Dresden to the Erfurter Kreuz / Messe Erfurt motorway exit, then the A71 in the direction of Erfurt.

 

From the south

If you are travelling from Munich / Nuremberg on the A73 in the direction of Bamberg, exit at motorway junction 20 (Suhl), change to the A71 in the direction of Erfurt, exit the A71 at junction 11 (Erfurt-Bindersleben) in the direction of the airport / trade fair centre.

 

If you are travelling from Stuttgart / Würzburg, take the A7 to Dreieck Schweinfurt, then the A70 to the Werntal motorway junction and then the A71 in the direction of Erfurt (please follow the signs for "Messe").

From the east

If you are travelling from Dresden / Chemnitz, continue on the A4 in the direction of Frankfurt to the Erfurter Kreuz / Messe Erfurt motorway exit, then take the A71 in the direction of Erfurt

 

Parking spaces

A total of 3,500 parking spaces make arriving in your own car as convenient as possible.

19 disabled parking spaces are located on PP Ost near the main entrance (next to the hotel car park).

E-Mobility

Messe Erfurt has a charging station with 2 connections for electric vehicles on the exhibition grounds. This is located in the first row of the east car park, directly on the forecourt and near the main entrance.

For further information on the use of the charging stations, please contact our information center in the entrance area of the administration of Messe Erfurt. This is manned 24 hours a day (extension 2004). You can get the necessary charge cards from your local colleagues for a fee of 5.00 €.

Travelling by train

Erfurt's main railway station is part of the ICE network operated by Deutsche Bahn AG. The ICE route between Munich and Berlin enables fast and convenient travel on ICE trains from all directions. Long-distance connections to Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig, Dresden, Halle, Berlin, Kassel, Fulda and Saarbrücken run every hour.

Regional connections make the surrounding area, for example Nordhausen, Northeim, Saalfeld, Glauchau/Zwickau, Gera, Jena, Mühlhausen and Göttingen, accessible. Trains go to Eisenach, Arnstadt, Sangerhausen, Ilmenau, Gotha and Weimar every 30 minutes.

If you are travelling on the city railway, take lines 3, 5 or 6 from Erfurt main railway station to Anger and change to line 2 there in the direction of P+R Messe.

Travelling by city railway / bus

Messe Erfurt has its own tram stop which provides you with a fast and direct connection to the city centre.

Tram line 2 runs every 10 minutes from main station to the trade fair site. A P+R car park located near the trade fair site makes it more convenient to park there and then continue your journey on tram line 2.

Travelling by plane

International arrivals: The direct connection to Erfurt-Weimar airport (just one change from city railway line 4 to line 2 at the Gothaer Platz stop is necessary) makes the journey easier for international visitors.

In addition, when travelling on ICE trains, Leipzig/Halle Airport can be reached in about 30 minutes and Frankfurt Airport in about 130 minutes.
